Lori Smith

Artist Statement :
"
I think these are very important years in America for plein air painters, and I am excited to be part of Art History in the making. Our country is in a plein air movement as it is experiencing a renaissance. I am glad at the thought that I may leave behind some timeless paintings of my native Ohio that capture, color, value and mood of that moment in time.

And thank you, if you purchase a piece, for your support."

Artist Bio :
Lori Smith is a native Ohioan. She earned her art degree from Kent State. After graduating and tending to her family she continued her art study focusing primarily on watercolor. She instructed and won many competitions over the past 15 years in watercolor. Then in 2007, after joining the Ohio Plein Air Society, her interest was being pulled to oil paint on canvas.

Studies have continued under Chuck Marshall, Carolyn Lewis, Marc Hanson, Carl Dalio, and Debra Joyce Dawson, focusing primarily on plein air painting. Her retirement goals include painting the fantastic Ohio countryside en plein air both in oil and watercolor.
