I’ve spent my entire life living and breathing the love of the outdoors
and nature. Born at home in front of a fireplace on Lake Loramie, Ohio,
in 1933, we later moved to an area just North of Dayton where I grew up
living in the corner of twenty acres of woods. Art has always been in my
mothers family and as soon as I could hold a pencil I was off and running.
But then art had to go on hold.
After a thirty four year career working as a civilian
for the USAF and raising a family of six, along with the help of my wife,
I retired in 1988 and went back to my first love.
Basically self taught but have taken workshops from
nationally known artists such as Judi Betts, Joe Fettingis, Don Andrews
and Homer Hacker.
In 1999 had my first joint Museum show with three
fellow artist from the local Outdoor Painters Group which we formed in
1995. This show was at the Springfield Museum of Art in Springfield, Ohio,
fall of 1999 then moving to the Zanesville Art Center, winter 1999.
Current affiliations are Western Ohio Watercolor
Society, Dayton Painters and Sculptors, Ohio Plein Air Society,
Springfield Museum of Art and Champaign County Arts Council.

I got a call from Mercy Hospital in Urbana last week. Someone donated
money to the hospital to buy original art, from Champaign County artists
only, to make patient stays more relaxing. Paul's name was given to them
by the Champaign County Arts Council. I had a meeting this last Monday
with the Hospital and I'm putting together a proposal for fourteen
landscape paintings of Champaign County to be hung in the IC Unit.
