DONNA when she met Daisy 2 smaller.jpg

Passionate Painter of Nature, Color, and Light!

Artist's Bio:

My Life's Purpose: to Enrich the lives of Others through my artwork and teaching.

Donna lives in Springfield, Ohio with her joyful, fun-loving, and supportive husband of 39 years, a Microbiology  supervisor. Donna and Dennis are blessed with two sons, Matthew and Brian Clark, and their families. All members of the family find their portraiture in numerous works Donna creates.

About her work, Donna says, "I love working wet-into-wet with watercolor as well as plein air with acrylics or water soluable oils." Her paintings are a visual depiction of her spirit and reflect her bold and colorful approach to painting. During her childhood in Cincinnati, Ohio, Donna loved exploring hills, meadows, and wooded areas in the southernmost regions of her home state.  Visits along the Atlantic sea coast, created a deep appreciation for the strength and serenity of these waterways and inspired paintings of rocky cliffs, waterfalls, serene beach scenes, and lighthouses. Recent trips to the southwestern states of Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, and many southeastern states (Florida, Carolinas, Georgia, etc.) have added more inspiration for paintings of her love of rock formations, colors, and bodies of water.

Her watercolors on yupo express fluid, loose brushwork; while her plein air paintings in oils exhibit a more controlled, but impressionistic feeling. Donna won FIRST PLACE in the winter 2010 Western Ohio Watercolor Society (WOWS) exhibit and the “WOWS” 2005 BEST OF SHOW Winter competition. Yearly, her expressive and colorful works continue to receive recognition as she is juried into both local and national level competitions. Her most recent NATIONAL RECOGNITION: 2 of her ABSTRACT WATERCOLORS ON YUPO were shown in the 2010 National Aquarius Watercolor Exhibition, in Colorado.  Donna enjoys giving water-media demonstrations and workshops.
