Artist Statement : After 30+
years as a wildlife illustrator/exhibits designer/graphic
designer/computer jockey for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Jim
was set free to follow his heart's desire. Years of outdoor experiences
had brought Jim face to face with the indescribable beauty of God's
Creation. A yearning to share those intimate moments with others has led
Jim to paint "My Impressions From Nature." Recently those images have
become more influenced by the American Impressionists, whether the New
Hope Art Colony of Pennsylvania or the Laguna Beach Art Colony from
California, through annual painting trips with friend and mentor, Mark
Gingerich.Jim
resides in Central Ohio with his lovely wife of 39 years, where they enjoy
the friendship of their four children (and their wonderful spouses) and
six grandchildren.
