Ron Seifert

Artist Bio :

Ron is a native of Mansfield Ohio, but has also lived in Greenville, South Carolina, Columbus, Ohio and Lancaster, Ohio. He returned to his hometown in 1998. Since his youth he has excelled in art, showing promise in design and color. After high school he attended Ohio University in Athens Ohio receiving his B.F.A. in Graphic Design, followed by a Masters in Art from Bob Jones University. Since then he has worked in the field of commercial art in areas such as illustration, publishing, advertising, and has spent over ten years in the sign industry.

He draws much of his inspiration from artists such as Childe Hassam, Louis Eugene Boudin, Alfred Sisley, Frank Benson, N.C. Wyeth, Michael Karas, and California Impressionists such as Edgar Payne, William Wendt, and Franz Bischoff. He owes to John Stobart the motivation for getting him outside to paint the real world. "Ron . . . go outside and paint a sky from life, and while doing it think about the space between as well as the clouds themselves, and feel the movement in them, those qualities can well become apparent in your painting." (Stobart) Nothing compares with actually painting from the "real world" for its changing color, moods, and the experience itself.

Having painted in acrylics in college, Ron has ventured into the media of oil on canvas, which he finds refreshing and challenging. His paintings range from moderate realism to soft impressionism. The subjects he chooses are those which are often not the "typical" subject, but those which resonate with the artist, as well as with a local audience that can identify and relate to the subject. He is fascinated by the play of light and color, and strives to capture the beauty and mood of the Creators hand.

His paintings are available as originals as well as limited edition prints. Please contact Ron for more information at the address listed below.
